Intermarket purchased a former high school property in Niagara-on-the-Lake for re-development purposes.  The lands are surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and mature trees; and the site has spectacular sunset views over the Niagara Escarpment.

A comprehensive Master Plan was developed for the property that created two (2) separate parcels which features a complete continuum of care for seniors – all located on the site.  The east parcel was identified for independent living; and te plan for the west parcel included retirement living that would provide meals, nursing, and general house cleaning services.

Ina Grafton Gage, the premier senior’s operator in Niagara Region, purchased the east parcel and constructed a four storey, Life Lease project that contains 89 units.  The entire project has been extremely successful as the building is fully leased and there is a long waiting list for residents wanting to move into the building.

Origin Retirement Living has purchased the west parcel and is planning to construct a four storey retirement home with 90 units.  This component of the development will provide full services for seniors and allow residents to move from the independent living at Ina Grafton Gage and transition to full-service retirement living in the Origin Project.
